Expertise and experience:

Reverend Dr Mehana is an ordained Minister of the Methodist Church. He joined the private sector with the permission of his church in the early 1990s and worked for a number of companies in the areas of human resources and organisational transformation, and progressed to strategic positions. Reverend Dr Mehana serves as an executive and non-executive chairman and director on various boards of listed companies such as Premier Fishing and Brands Ltd, AYO Technology Solutions Ltd as well as Mustek Ltd and unlisted companies in South Africa including Sizwe IT Group (Pty) Ltd, LRMG (Pty) Ltd, Makana Investment Corporation and Community Scheme Ombud Service (Pty) Ltd.

Reverend Dr Mehana has been appointed by the Minister of South African Police Service (SAPS) to lead a Ministerial SAPS Transformation Task Team that will transform the police service in South Africa to be professional and demilitarised as recommended by Judge Farlam of the Marikana Commission.

He has also been appointed by the Minister of Higher Education to the Governing Council of the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and he is the Chair of Council.

Reverend Dr Mehana is a former Adjunct Professor and part-time lecturer of Business Strategy at UCT Graduate School of Business, where he taught Business Strategy course to the AIM Programme, Change Management to Diploma and assisted with the Business Leadership for MBA students.

 Reverend Dr Mehana is also one of the 40 Social Cohesion Advocates under the Ministry of Arts and Culture.
